Universal Add-on Kits are available in both 27” and 36” heights, and all colors to match our Lucidium Pens. This kit will allow you to expand your existing pen by 2 feet in one direction OR create a 2ft x 2ft Bump-out. It makes a Small pen into a Medium pen, or a Medium pen into a Large pen. You can even make a Large pen bigger. Our Universal Add-on kit allows you to grow your pen without buying an entire second pen.

Each Universal Kit includes the following parts:
- (2) Wall panels
- (4) Cross tubes
- (2) Wall tubes
- (2) Corner tubes
- (4) Wall connectors
- (4) Corner connectors
- (8) Panel screw sets
- Hex key
These parts are ADDED to an existing Lucidium Pen. They will not create an enclosure by themselves. They only work with Clearly Loved Pets Lucidium Pens.
Benefits
Leaving a dog home alone, encaged, is a stressful and unpleasant necessity for many dog owners. Often this circumstance leads to guilt for the owner, and potentially distress for the dog. The Lucidium Dog Pen offers an alternative.
The enclosure is much larger than a typical crate, and has 360 degree views.
The pleasing aesthetic will lead to more favorable placement in the heart of the home, perhaps by a sliding glass door, so dogs have an interesting and unobstructed view, while they enjoy the space to move around and stretch out.
The design is modular, which offers the option to change the size or shape with an add-on kit to accommodate additional dogs, or changes in residence.
Three color options (white, gunmetal and silver) provide owners with further customization to match their home décor, and/or their animals gender.
The generous space inside the pen may need to be cleaned, or arranged at times. The walk-through door provides easy access, which is especially beneficial for older pet owners, or pet owners with health challenges.

- Dimensions shown above are to the centerline of the vertical tubes. Outside length and width are 1 inch larger. Inside dimensions are 1 inch smaller
Pen Care
The Lucidium Dog Pen is designed for small to medium sized dogs. Ultimately, it is up to the pet owner to decide if this enclosure is appropriate for their pet. Some active medium dogs may be able to jump out of the pen. Some older or shorter large dogs may do well in this pen. If you are unsure, please consult with your veterinarian.
Please watch the video below to understand the pen assembly process. While this video specifically shows assembly of a 36″ tall, medium size pen, the process is similar for all models.
Introducing Your Dog to the New Pen
Once you have your pen assembled, bring your dog to the walls and tap on them with your fingers to introduce your dog to the concept of “clear” walls. Some dogs may bump into the walls at first, however most adjust quickly. If needed, place a strip of masking tape on the outside of the wall panels, at your dog’s eye level, for several days.
Cleaning Your New Dog Pen
The acrylic walls of the pen should be cleaned with non-ammonia glass cleaner or a solution of diluted vinegar and water (4 parts water to 1 part vinegar) and a soft cloth. Mild soap and water can also be used. Do not use ammonia based glass cleaners or any abrasive cleaners. Other parts of the pen may be cleaned with mild soap and water.
Maintenance
Periodically check fasteners to be sure they are snug. Check door hardware to be sure fasteners are secure. Do not over tighten any hardware.
Disassembly
The pen can be partially or completely disassembled (except the door frame, which is permanently assembled) if it needs to be stored or moved. Simply reverse the steps used to assemble it. To move the assembled pen, close and latch the door and secure the swing arm with the two sliding sleeves.

The extra room is amazing for my sometimes large groups of foster kittens. I apparently ordered the opaque instead of clear panels but it didn’t matter because they are against the wall anyway. I will say putting it together is a 2-person job since the panels and rods come apart easily and the bolts can’t all be reached from one side. But that isn’t a big deal either. Many of our fosters love these pens. The extension helps me have more room to maneuver while giving meds or getting weights. Thank you for offering this wonderful addition to the already fantastic pen.

The pen is great. Sturdy and keeps my pup from feeling isolated. The expansion kit provides lots of room. I made two bump outs. One for a potty tray and one for a bed. That left a large square open play space.
We had already purchased the basic 36" gunmetal unit with 10 panels. We found it was just a bit too small to use when birthing kittens, so we added another 2 panels and it is now the perfect size. Works perfectly to contain our Maine Coon babies and still allow mama access in and out of the enclosure.
Perfect add on to make our 4x6 pen a 4x8 pen! Everything included exactly as needed.

Love these pens. We have two of them!
We’ve purchased two different Kennels and one add-on and love the flexibility. It gives us to give our dogs some space when they need an alone time, but also allows us to include them and family time and feeding. Our friends and family also frequently comment on how nice it is to be able to see the babies through the clear plexiglass and let us feel more spacious in our apartment.
I have purchased from CLP several times and I honestly can't imagine my fostering experience without the enclosures that I have. I foster kittens and for them to have that safe space but the ability to see outside is so very beneficial for them. It's also very helpful to be able to set up a video camera outside the pen, or attached to the top rail, and to keep an eye on my kittens in that way. The quality of the enclosures is wonderful, they clean up nicely (only you have to use a toothbrush to get in the slits in the rails) and they are beautiful. Would recommend to anyone fostering or with a need for a safe space for an animal in a larger room.
My dogs feel so much more comfortable in the clear crates and they have much more room. Excellent product and excellent customer service.

I cannot get over this enclosure. Having the ability to extend it and make it larger as needed is a big bonus. I love the beautiful design of it and how easy it was to add the additional panels. And the kit makes it possible to add it on in any way you see fit. If you want to change it to go a different direction there are even pieces for that. I love the thoughtfulness of this design.

Beautiful enclosure! My husband and I bought our daughter a bunny and were looking for an enclosure that would be beautiful and functional. Clearly Pets fit both of those requirements and it was so easy to put together…my daughter and I had a blast bonding with the easy set-up.
It is great but the color does match. The one a have is teal so a photo wouldn’t look good.

I was lucky enough to be gifted a Large/36" Tall Clearly Loved Pets Playpen; a fellow volunteer with the Cat Rescue (that I foster for) took it upon herself to fundraise specifically to gift me & my foster kittens this amazing Playpen!! I am SO thankful to her (Cindy B... you know who you are 🩷)!! I am also owned by a "handicapped" kitten named Peanut; she has C.H. (Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a.k.a. Wobbly Kitten Syndrome). Peanut needs to be contained for own safety when she cannot be supervised, and this is the best possible option to contain her, while still having her be able to see everything and be around everyone (her 🐈⬛ siblings, especially)! I purchased the add-on kit so I can make the Playpen 72" x 72".!! I love this product, and the company is great!! This is my absolute favorite playpen ever!! 🩷
So I really love this enclosure for our bun! I initially did set it up wrong because I wanted the door on the right side. But customer service was so nice and let me know I had it upside down. They were even nice enough to circle the details on my submitted picture and explain where things were wrong. So, my only complaint is I wish the location of the door was interchangeable. In our setup it’s very inconvenient for it to open to the left side. Besides that, I absolutely love it!!! Highly recommend!
Love the add on kit to create a bump out for litter box.
Unit works great as advertised and we also own a base clearly loved pets house which is what we expanded using this kit. However, the order came incomplete because the company forgot to send some of the connectors and tubes so. To their credit, the company sent the missing parts.
The playpen looks really nice and it's great to watch our bunnies inside- the only issues I have had are- 1- delicate- a small crack has already developed and 2- I bought a supplementary kit that arrived with no harware so could not be assembled.
My puppies love their area
This was a game changer for my playpen! I used it to extend the length of it, rather than to create a "bump-out," though I love that I also have that as an option. It is perfect for my litters of foster kittens, and now they'll have even more room to run around and play as they grow. Huge thank you to Clearly Loved Pets for this awesome add-on kit!
Add-on is fantastic! My chin very much appreciates it! It was quite easy to add to my existing setup and gives him even more space to run and leap around. It works great as there's enough room for me to sit and interact with him in the pen. I'm very glad I found these products!
