Introducing Your Pet to the Bed
Introducing your pet to a new bed can be a positive experience with a bit of patience and encouragement. Here are some steps to help your pet adjust to a new bed:
Location. Place the new bed in a familiar and comfortable area where your pet likes to rest. This could be near their old bed or in a quiet corner.
Familiar Scents. Make the new bed more appealing by placing familiar items, such as a blanket or toy with your pet's scent, on it. This can create a sense of comfort and familiarity.
Positive Reinforcement. Encourage your pet to explore the new bed by using positive reinforcement. Offer treats, praise, or play near the bed to associate it with positive experiences.
Transition Gradually. If your pet has an existing bed, consider keeping both beds for a transitional period. This allows your pet to adjust at their own pace.
Associate with Relaxation. Place the new bed in a quiet and relaxing environment. This helps your pet associate the bed with a calm and comfortable space.
Spending Time Together. Spend time sitting or lying near the new bed to show your pet that it's a safe and enjoyable place. Use treats and affection to reinforce positive feelings.
Be Patient. Understand that it may take some time for your pet to fully accept the new bed. Be patient and avoid forcing them onto it.
Create a Routine. Establish a bedtime routine that includes the new bed. This routine can help signal to your pet that it's time to settle down and rest.
Care & Cleaning
Washing your faux fur bed cover requires gentle care to maintain its appearance and texture.
Spot Cleaning: For smaller areas try spot cleaning with a mild detergent and a damp cloth. Gently blot the area without rubbing to avoid damaging the fibers.
Hand Washing: to wash the cushion cover, fill a sink or basin with cold water and add a small amount of mild detergent. Submerge the fur and gently agitate it around in the soapy. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue and gently squeeze out the excess water. Lay the faux fur flat on a clean, dry towel and allow it to air dry completely. *Avoid using heat sources like hair dryers or direct sunlight as they may damage the faux fur. Brief heatless tumbling in a drier can help to fluff the fur after washing.
Dry Cleaning: You may also take the faux fur bed cover to a professional cleaner.
