Fun Ways to Celebrate the Holidays With Your Pets

Make a Homemade Treat or Meal for Your Pet

Holiday celebrations include many family traditions — and what better traditions are there than those that include our favorite foods?!  Just like us, our pets love to get a special treat. Why not include them in your baking rotation this year and try a Pumpkin & Peanut Butter Dog Treat or a Salmon Cat Treat? We use food to show our love to people, let’s add our pets into the holiday mix!

Of course, check with your vet to make sure the ingredients are safe for your pet!

Take Your Dog to His Favorite Place

Whether it’s the dog beach, a favorite park, pond or hiking trail, take your dog on his favorite outing and enjoy the quality time together. Dogs are sensitive to human energy and they love when we pay attention to them!

Play a Game with Your Pet

It could be hide and seek or catch with a playful pup or using a catnip fishing rod with your feline friend. Engage in play time with your pet!

Have a Special Holiday Cuddle

Spend a little extra time giving your pet the attention she or he loves. Whether it’s a cuddle on the couch or a little more time grooming, your pet will love the attention.

Wrap a Gift for Your Pet

A new bone, fresh cat nip or a new toy? Let your pet experience the joy of receiving a gift-wrapped toy or treat, right along with the rest of us! What better feeling than to give back to the pet who undoubtedly makes you happier?

We know you don’t need research to confirm that your pet makes you feel good…but we’ll share some with you anyway. A 2011 American Psychological Association study published findings on the impact of pets on their owners in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. According to this research, pet owners are happier, healthier and better adjusted than non-owners and pets can make people feel better after experiencing rejection.
